HSLDA Endorses Mike Hucabee

I find it just a little disturbing that a reputable organization like HSLDA would come out in support of a presidential candidate that has such a questionable record as a conservative. Especially when they have such an excellent choice in Ron Paul. Heck Dr. Paul even wants to do away with the Department of Miseducation. Nothing could be better for our freedom of choice in regards to education. HSLDA's head of their political action committee has even resigned over their endorsement of the Huckster. Hopefully HSLDA members who support Dr. Paul will let them know how they feel about their poor choice fro an endorsement.

This site contains a plethora of information concerning Dr. Paul's stance on current issues. The information you will find on this site are the words of Ron Paul himself. He is extremely conservative and consistent. The second link I have added is for the official Ron Paul campaign website. The Christians Right To Vote

The Apostle Paul in the thirteenth chapter of Romans writes “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good.“ According to this passage of scripture the power of the authorities that we are subject to are directly granted from God. If we hold this to be true than we must also conclude that the privilege to vote that is granted us by our governments constitution has been ordained by our Heavenly Father. This privilege was originally granted to a God fearing people from a government established by God fearing men that sought to empower the common man with the freedom to worship and follow God without fear of persecution. It was also granted as a means for the people to hold there representatives accountable. As a nation we have failed to do both of these. In Matthew 5:13 our Lord states " Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." For too long we have stood by, indifferent to what has been happening in Washington and the rest of the country. We need to stand up and be counted as salt. This can be done on the national platform of election day. When we stand up for the things of God we must do so with utmost respect for our elected and appointed officials, the law of the land and our fellow countrymen, for the Apostle Peter admonishes us in I Peter 2:12-18 “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.” We also must remember that as believers we are but pilgrims to this country and our citizenship ultimately lies in Gods Kingdom. Even though we have many earthly duties and responsibilities to country and countrymen alike, our every action needs to reflect this fact. As individual believers we must first seek to put ourselves under the headship of Christ. We must seek to change the world we live in by seeking the lost, and spreading the glorious Gospel message and not through the new religion of ultra political conservativism. For only our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ can forever change the hearts of men not the strong arm of the government. If this becomes our thrust, as more and more people receive Christ and hold Him Most High as there ultimate authority only then will we see a true change in this country. Let us all seek to serve the Lord as we cast our ballots this November 7th.
